A Youth Basketball Skills Enhancement Organization
The D SCHOOL ELITE BASKETBALL PROGRAM
The D SCHOOL ELITE BASKETBALL PROGRAM (DSE) was started in September of 2013. Ten talented boys from the DMV Area (Potomac Valley region) were selected and invited to be a part of an up and coming new team. The Founder, Byron Harper, was and is committed to introducing an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) boy's basketball team to the DMV Area that is focused on developing the innate skills and talents of an elite group of young men, while joining like-minded families, that appreciate seasoned and qualified volunteer coaching and focused on utlizing the game of basketball as a vehicle to expose their son's to essential life lessons, teaching experiences and continued education, in hopes of producing successful and empowered young men.
The D School Elite Basketball Program (DSE) is pleased and privileged to have assembled such a seasoned coaching staff with a combined, sixty plus years of experience in nurturing, teaching and coaching young people. The Coaching Staff and Bench Personnel are all current members of the Amateur Athletic Association (AAU), have successfully passed background clearance checks, and are certified by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) and have recently received USA Basketball Certification.
Since the inception of the D School, we have been able to realize numerous milestones and accomplishments. Continuing with that momentum, in the fall of 2017 the D School Elite Basketball Program (DSE) partnered with the 1 Up Handles, Inc. Founded by Kevin Thompson, this stategic partnership creates more unique opportunities for the players under this collaboration to:

Continue to offer and receive superb coaching and training

Be afforded an opportunity to develop players skills and talents further, with more quality practices

Offer the opportunity to compete at the 12U, 13U or 14U levels

Maintain a short bench while creating more, "in game" learning opportunities.
We are very excited about the opportunity to expand the D School tradition of teaching the fundamentals of the game of basketball.
