The D SCHOOL is founded by Byron Harper, an Assistant Varsity Coach, at Gonzaga College H.S. in Washington, DC. Coach Harper has over 30 years of Basketball experience to include his playing career, coaching and basketball skills training. Since joining Gonzaga's varsity staff in 2009, Gonzaga has accumulated a record of 273-89, earning 2 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Championships (2015 & 2017) and 1 District of Columbia State Athletic Association Championship (2017).

Head Coach: Juan J. Hill (13U); Assistant Coach (12U and 14U)

Coach Hill has over 18 years of Basketball coaching experience to include over 16 years as an Assistant Varsity Coach at Gonzaga with 4 WCAC Championships (2003, 2008, 2015 and 2017) and 1 DC State Championship, and 5 years of Head Coach AAU Experience (girls and boys). Coach Hill is excellent with his delivery to young people and we believe that he will lead the D School forward and improve the basketball IQ and skills of all of our players. Coach Hill, a native Washingtonian and a former

high school and collegiate player, is highly respected in the national

basketball community for his skills, experience and knowledge of the game.

Coach Hill has served as the Head Coach of Takoma Academy in Takoma

Park MD and is currently an Assistant Varsity Coach at Gonzaga. He has

coached and worked individually with many DMV Area players who are now

playing at the college and NBA Level.

Head Coach: Vaughn Meyers (12U); Assistant Coach (12U and 14U)

As the son of local coaching legend, Coach Eddie Meyers a famed

Assistant Coach at Georgetown University, George Washington University,

Tennessee State, Boston University, University of the District of Columbia, and

Mackin H.S., to name a few) Coach Meyers passion for the game of

basketball, was realized as he is the co-head trainer of Game Plan Sport with

over 15 years of direct training. He has positively impacted the skills of many

local and regional players from AAU to professional. He coaching experience

includes 5 years as the Boy's Varsity Assistant Coach at The Severn

School in Severna Park, MD, and 2 years as the Head Coach, of the

Girls, Junior Varsity team at Maret in Washington, D.C.

Coach Vaughn Meyers excitedly joined the D School Elite Basketball program for the 2016 - 2017 season and is looking forward to shaping the talent

of our young men. He brings a quality level of experience, exposure and

resources, combined with his patience, attention to detail,

passion and basketball IQ, makes Coach Meyers a great fit for the D School.

Head Coach: Kevin Thompson (14U); Assistant Coach (12U and 13U)

Coach Kevin Thompson, has a 12 years of Head Coach experience at

Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD; 3 year as the boys Junior Varsity

and 9 years leading the Varsity, girls team. Coach Thompson

graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in 1994. While there,

Kevin earned All-Montgomery County First Team, All WCAC First Team,

All-Metropolitan Fourth Team (Top 25 in Washington D.C. Area) honors.

As a collegiate player at Canisius College, his team appeared in the 1996

NCAA Tournament; 1997-1998 MAAC All Conference Second Team,

MVP of the Dr. Pepper Classic, a former three point record holder, and is a

member of the 1,000 point club. He has several years of professional

basketball experience overseas. The D School family will continue to

benefit from the vision, energy and work ethic of Coach Thompson.
